Plumbing Fixture Upgrades

The fixture is the part you chose. The shutoff valve behind it is the part that decides how the job actually goes.

Copper manifold with isolation and shutoff valves
Manifold with isolation valves

This is straightforward work done properly: faucets, toilets, garbage disposals, laundry connections, and the shutoff valves and supply lines behind them.

The item that reliably turns a small job into a slightly larger one is the shutoff valve. In older Houston homes these seize, and a valve that will not close makes any fixture work harder and sometimes impossible without shutting the whole house down. We check them and flag them before replacing anything, so it is never a surprise on the invoice.

We are also happy to say when a repair beats a replacement. A dripping faucet is usually a cartridge. A humming disposal is usually a jam. If the smaller fix genuinely solves it, that is what we will recommend.

Symptoms

When this is likely your problem

A faucet that drips no matter how tight you close it
A toilet that runs, rocks, or flushes weakly
Shutoff valves under a sink that are seized or weeping
A disposal that hums, leaks, or will not start
Upgrading fixtures across a house or a rental unit

What drives the number

We quote after diagnosis, not before. These move the number most:

  • COUNTMultiple fixtures in one visit price considerably better.
  • VALVESWhether the existing shutoffs still close.
  • FIXTUREWhether you are supplying it or we are.
  • ACCESSCabinet and connection access, which varies more than people expect.

Houston note

If you have several small items queued up — a dripping faucet, a running toilet, a disposal that hums — book them together. One visit covering four fixtures costs considerably less than four separate call-outs, and it is the cheapest way to catch up on deferred repairs.

FAQ

Questions about this service

Why might a simple faucet swap cost more than quoted?

Almost always because the shutoff valves under the sink have seized. In older homes, valves that have not been turned in decades often will not close or will not reseal. We inspect and tell you before replacing them.

Can I supply my own fixtures?

Yes, and many people do. Send us the model beforehand so we can confirm rough-in compatibility — that single check prevents the most common avoidable delay.

My disposal just hums. Is it dead?

Usually not. A hum means the motor has power but the impeller is stuck. Before calling anyone, try the reset button on the underside. It solves this more often than you would expect and costs nothing.

Can you do several fixtures in one visit?

Yes, and it is the sensible way to buy this work. List everything when you book so we allocate time and bring parts.

Ready to get this looked at?

Call and describe what's happening. You'll get an honest read before anyone drives out.
